Product Description
This listing is for a Heavy Duty Deep Transmission Pan with 1 to 1.5 Quarts Extra Capacity(depending on application) for the 42RLE Transmission with a Cast Aluminum finish. PML designed this transmission pan in response to customer demand to replace the stock 42RLE pan. It has a low profile as many vehicles with this transmission have clearance issues with skid plates, exhaust routing, or cross frame members. A magnetic drain plug and all mounting bolts are included with the pan. This pan has been designed for:
This pan has been installed in the following vehicles:
This pan may also fit the following vehicles:
Configurations vary so always check your vehicle. This transmission has 13 bolts holding the pan onto the valve body. The 42RE transmission, which also is found on Jeep and Dodge trucks/SUVs, has 14 bolts and is Deep Pan part# 9862. The Dodge 5-45RFE transmission is found on Ram 1500, Liberty and Wrangler with diesel engines and that pan has 15 bolts and is Deep Pan part# 10304. Verify which transmission you have and look for ground clearance and interference from frame cross members or exhaust components. Pan dimensions can be found below in our Technical Information section. Some 2005 and 2006 Rubicons have reported the frame or skid plate support is close to or contacts the drain plug on the PML pan. This required some modifications to frame or support. This pan is designed to work with the stock filter. The interior of the pan has a filter support. Use a stock filter with this pan. No filter extension is needed. This pan comes with a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY, for complete details please see our Warranty section below. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU ORDERING A PART THAT DOES NOT FITYOUR VEHICLE. THE EBAY COMPATIBILITY CHART CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO BE 100% ACCURATE. Please seethe Technical Information/Identification Guide below for information on how to properly assure pan fitment. The above photo shows the interior of the 42RLE Deep Pan. Some vehicles use a special dipstick that hits the bottom of the pan to check the transmission fluid. The ledge for the dipstick is the half circle on the left side of the image. This ledge is at the same location as the bottom of the stock pan. In the above photo you can see this pan has a boss on the front side of the pan near the drain hole that can be machined for a temperature sending unit. The drain hole is on the passenger side of the front and the boss is on the driver's side of the front. The boss on the bottom of the pan is an alternative drain hole location. On some Jeep Rubicons (probably 2003 to 2006 models), the drain is close to the cross member or support bar so check clearance carefully and note that draining fluid will require some care.A boss on the same side as the drain is for optional temperature sending units, this can be drilled and tapped to accommodate from 1/8 to 1/2 NPT. This can be drilled by you or by us to your desired specifications for an additional $65 USD machining fee. Above you can see a side-by-side comparison of the Deep Pan with the stock pan. |
PML products carry a lifetime limited manufacturer's warranty. Our products have proven to be trouble free since we began making them in 2000. If the pan or cover you receive is determined to have some kind of manufacturing defect (i.e., machining problem, leak due to porosity in pan wall), PML will replace the part. If you sell your vehicle with our part installed, we will honor the warranty with the new owner. If you run a cover or pan into a boulder and it cracks or is damaged, well, there's nothing PML can help you with there. Modifying our products voids the warranty. Our products are designed to fit factory original equipment. However, in some applications, or because of the use of certain factory options and/or after market equipment, there may be clearance or fitment problems between our products and your vehicle components. PML provides dimensions and pictures so you can check your vehicle before ordering. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner and installer to install the part correctly and to ensure that there is no contact between the PML part and other moving or fixed vehicle components. World Wide Specialty Parts and PML assumes no liability, expressed or implied, for damage or injury to persons or property. This warranty does not cover: Removal and Replacement Labor Costs, Loss of time, Inconvenience or other Consequential Damage. |
